Tunbridge Wells Borough Council has appointed Urbaser to take over its recycling,
waste collection and street cleaning services from 30 March 2019
. Urbaser is one
of the largest resource and waste management companies in Europe and the new
contract will provide residents with a greatly improved recycling service, as well as
street cleaning services.

What will change?
There will be no change to the service until September 2019.

TWBC are working hard to minimise any changes to your bin collection day, but you
may notice different vehicles collecting your recycling and waste.

In the future TWBC will be introducing some service improvements including:

  • Separate weekly food waste collections
  • Fortnightly mixed recycling collection, which will now include glass
  • Additional recycling collections of textiles, household batteries and small electrical appliances such as toasters or kettles.

TWBC will be in touch regarding these new services in due course and you will be given plenty of notice about any planned changes.

Visit TWBC's new recycling service roadshow running in spring and summer 2019. It's a great opportunity to find out more about your new service
provider and the improvements to your collection services. Staff from the Council and Urbaser will be touring the borough to meetresidents and answer any questions.
