Planning

Horsmonden Parish Council has a planning committee which comprises members of the Parish Council. It is their responsibility to examine all planning applications which have been submitted to Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, before passing them back to TWBC for final approval/disapproval.

If you are considering a new build, addition or alteration to an existing building, conservatory, garage, garden house or any other type of structure then you are advised in the first instance to consult TWBC Planning Services whose staff will be pleased to guide you through the planning application procedures. ( Some construction work may not require planning permission ). Once you have decided on the type of construction you require, and if it necessary to obtain planning permission, it will be in your own interest to prepare your plans so that they contain as much detail and information as possible, particularly if you are preparing the plans yourself.

All plans must be submitted to TWBC, Planning Services, High Street, Cranbrook, Kent TN17 3EN. The plans will be passed to The Parish Council for their approval/disapproval/comments before returning to TWBC. TWBC's decision is final, although you have the right to appeal.

You are entitled to attend The Parish Council planning meetings, and you are welcome to speak in support of your application. Please notify the Parish Clerk, Belinda Reed, if you wish to make a presentation. Telephone number :- 01892 72 4989.
