Horsmonden Parish Council serves a small rural community with just over 850 households and approximately 2,600 parishioners. The village centres around an award-winning village store, an historic pub, pharmacy, village green, primary academy and a village hall with housing spreading along four roads running away from the village centre. Much of the parish lies outside the village centre, down narrow lanes and on farmsteads. The village is surrounded by extensive public rights of way and footpaths, along with diverse crops, including fruit orchards, hops and, more recently, vineyards.
The community is active, with many village clubs and organisations regularly interacting with the Parish Council about local issues.
