Community Assets

The Parish Council on behalf of the parish own the following facilities:

 

 

The Institute

The Institute is a property that was gifted to the parish by the trustees of John Francis Austen late of Capel Manor in November 1891.

 

 

Village Green

The Village Green is a registered “Village Green” and not common land.

 

 

The War Memorial

A three-stepped square based surmounted by a square plinth and tapering capped pillar. Installed to commemorate the lives lost in WW1 and WW2.

 

 

Land at Fromandez Drive

Area of land partly owned by the Parish Council and partly by KCC. Maintained by the Parish Council as a wildflower meadow in its early stages of development. 

 

 

Part of the Sports Ground

Which is leased to the Sports Club for a peppercorn rent

 

 

Land occupied by the Tennis Courts

Which is leased to the Tennis Club for a peppercorn rent.

These were renewed by the Parish Council in January 2012.

 

 

Playground Equipment

The Parish Council playground is located adjacent to Horsmonden Kindergarten.

 

 

The Public Conveniences, Maidstone Road

Public conveniences are open during daylight hours on the west of the village green.  These are maintained by the Parish Council and cleaned by an approved cleaning contractor.  While the cleaning contractor makes every effort to keep the facilities in good order, there may be times when, due to mis-use or other circumstances, they are not up to scratch, Should issues arise, please contact the Clerk who will be able to assist.
